CHUWI CELEBRATES MAJOR MILESTONE WITH FIRST-EVER SOLO SHOW IN MADRID AT TEATRO MAGNO

NEW YORK (June 10, 2026) – Chuwi made history last night with their first-ever solo headline performance in Madrid, taking the stage at the iconic Teatro Magno. Presented by leading promoters PERREOLAB and Madrid No Descansa, the show marked a major milestone for the Puerto Rican band as they continue their rapid international ascent. The performance offered an intimate yet high-energy showcase of Chuwi's distinctive blend of Puerto Rican musical traditions and contemporary sounds, introducing the group as a headlining act in their own right and signaling the beginning of a new chapter in their career.

The milestone performance comes as Chuwi continues to reach new audiences around the world, building on the momentum of their biggest U.S. headline run to date while introducing its music to fans across Europe this summer as the official opening act on Bad Bunny's DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour. While these stadium performances have introduced Chuwi to thousands of new fans each night, the Teatro Magno show offered a different kind of milestone. For the first time in Madrid, audiences gathered specifically for a Chuwi headline performance, creating an intimate environment that allowed the band to fully showcase the artistry, energy, and musicianship that have fueled their rapid rise. The successful debut marks the first of what is expected to be many headline performances in international markets as Chuwi continues expanding its global footprint. As the band builds on the momentum of its European tour, the Madrid solo show stands as a defining moment in its evolution and a clear indication of what lies ahead. With their first-ever solo show in Madrid now in the books, Chuwi continues to establish itself as one of the most exciting emerging acts in contemporary Latin music.

Recognized as part of the Future 25 by Rolling Stone en Español, highlighting the artists defining the future of music, Chuwi continues to build momentum as one of the most exciting rising forces in Latin music. The Puerto Rican quartet was also featured on the NME 100 of 2026 and named to Billboard’s 26 Latin Artists to Watch in 2026, further solidifying their growing global profile. Chuwi kicked off 2026 with their latest single, “Plei,” a powerful salsa track that reflects the emotional pull of life away from Puerto Rico and the enduring desire to return home. Formed in Isabela, Puerto Rico, the group is composed of siblings Lorén, Willy, and Wester Aldarondo, alongside family friend Adrián López. Together, they are reshaping the island’s contemporary sound through a fusion of salsa, plena, and modern Caribbean rhythms, paired with emotionally driven songwriting and layered musicianship. Their breakout moment arrived with “WELTiTA,” featured on Bad Bunny’s DtMF album and performed during his No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí residency, a collaboration that propelled the group onto the international stage. The track went on to earn Chuwi their first nomination at the Premio Lo Nuestro for The Perfect Mix of the Year, as well as a nomination at Premios Tu Música Urbana Mix 2026 in the category of Artista Indie/Alternativo. The group later delivered a standout performance at the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards, opening with “Tikiri” before transitioning into “WELTiTA,” joined onstage by Bad Bunny. Chuwi also appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series during Latin Music Month, delivering an intimate performance that showcased their versatility across “Falta Algo,” “Tikiri,” “Tierra,” “Guerra,” and “Navidades en Cataño.” Most recently, the session was released as an official project titled CHUWI (Live from NPR’s Tiny Desk), transforming their breakout NPR debut into a fully realized live recording. With over 7.4 million monthly Spotify listeners and rapidly expanding international recognition, Chuwi continues to evolve as one of Puerto Rico’s most dynamic contemporary acts, carrying the island’s sound and spirit into a new global era.
