CHUWI CLOSES BREAKOUT ‘PRIMAVERA TOUR 2026’ WITH SOLD-OUT SHOWS ACROSS MAJOR U.S. MARKETS

FOLLOWING THEIR BIGGEST HEADLINE RUN TO DATE, THE PUERTO RICAN QUARTET WILL CONTINUE AS THE OFFICIAL OPENING ACT FOR BAD BUNNY’S EUROPEAN DEBÍ TIRAR MÁS FOTOS WORLD TOUR ACROSS 29 STADIUM DATES

NEW YORK (May 19, 2026) –
Puerto Rican breakout group Chuwi closed out their biggest U.S. headline run to date this past weekend in Orlando, Florida, capping off a milestone moment for the band as they continue building momentum across new markets. Over the last year, the quartet has steadily expanded their audience through emotionally resonant live performances, genre-blurring music rooted in Puerto Rican identity, and a growing fanbase that continues extending far beyond the island. Just months ago, in October 2025, Chuwi embarked on their first-ever U.S. headlining tour, selling out intimate 300–500 capacity venues while building a grassroots following city by city. Now, with the successful close of Primavera Tour 2026, the band has officially entered a new level of demand. Their 18-date North American run saw packed and sold-out shows across major key markets including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington D.C., Tampa, and two consecutive sold-out nights in New York City, while also marking the group’s first-ever headline performances on the West Coast. Miami delivered the largest turnout of the entire tour, drawing 1,000+ attendees and completely packing the outdoor venue, further underscoring the band’s accelerating momentum and growing audience nationwide.

Throughout the run, Chuwi took fans through an emotional journey, performing early favorites and some of their most personal material, while using their set to bring awareness to life, culture, and everyday realities in Puerto Rico. Fan favorites such as “Tikiri,” “Falta Algo,” “Tierra,” “Guerra,” and “Plei” underscored the energy and range of their rapidly expanding live catalog, with “WELTiTA” closing each night as the encore.

The success of Primavera Tour 2026 also signals a broader global expansion for the group, who have officially been announced to continue as the opening act for the European leg of Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour, building on the band’s ongoing touring history alongside the global superstar. Prior to the upcoming European stadium run, Chuwi previously joined Bad Bunny across Latin America and Australia, performing a combined 27 shows and continuing to introduce their music to audiences across multiple continents. Now, as international demand for the group continues accelerating, Chuwi is preparing for their most expansive and high-profile touring opportunity to date this summer, performing across 29 stadium dates throughout Spain, Portugal, Germany, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Poland, Italy, and Belgium. As they prepare to step onto stadium stages across Europe beginning May 22 in Barcelona, Chuwi continues to establish themselves as one of Puerto Rico’s most exciting emerging acts, with growing demand that increasingly extends far beyond the island and into new global markets.

Recognized as part of the
Future 25 by Rolling Stone en Español, highlighting the artists defining the future of music, Chuwi continues to build momentum as one of the most exciting rising forces in Latin music. The Puerto Rican quartet was also featured on the NME 100 of 2026 and named to Billboard’s 26 Latin Artists to Watch in 2026, further solidifying their growing global profile. Chuwi kicked off 2026 with their latest single, “Plei,” a powerful salsa track that reflects the emotional pull of life away from Puerto Rico and the enduring desire to return home. Formed in Isabela, Puerto Rico, the group is composed of siblings Lorén, Willy, and Wester Aldarondo, alongside family friend Adrián López. Together, they are reshaping the island’s contemporary sound through a fusion of salsa, plena, and modern Caribbean rhythms, paired with emotionally driven songwriting and layered musicianship. Their breakout moment arrived with “WELTiTA,” featured on Bad Bunny’s DtMF album and performed during his No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí residency, a collaboration that propelled the group onto the international stage. The track went on to earn Chuwi their first nomination at the Premio Lo Nuestro for The Perfect Mix of the Year, as well as a nomination at Premios Tu Música Urbana Mix 2026 in the category of Artista Indie/Alternativo. The group later delivered a standout performance at the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards, opening with “Tikiri” before transitioning into “WELTiTA,” joined onstage by Bad Bunny. Chuwi also appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series during Latin Music Month, delivering an intimate performance that showcased their versatility across “Falta Algo,” “Tikiri,” “Tierra,” “Guerra,” and “Navidades en Cataño.” Most recently, the session was released as an official project titled CHUWI (Live from NPR’s Tiny Desk), transforming their breakout NPR debut into a fully realized live recording. With over 7.4 million monthly Spotify listeners and rapidly expanding international recognition, Chuwi continues to evolve as one of Puerto Rico’s most dynamic contemporary acts, carrying the island’s sound and spirit into a new global era.
