“La Villa” hits #1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay charts
San José, Costa Rica (April 13, 2026) — Global urban artist, Ryan Castro delivers a total takeover at Costa Rica’s Parque Viva, drawing over 17,000 fans after the show sold out in just 24 hours, marking one of the most explosive stops of his Sendé World Tour to date.
The night consisted of surprise appearances from Aria Vega, who joined Castro for their hit “Chévere Premium Remix,” and Jombriel for their dancehall anthem “Parte y Choque” creating some of the most talked-about moments of the show. The setlist proved to be a major highlight of the night, featuring tracks from his latest albums, Sendé and Hopi Sendé, alongside some of his most iconic hits, including “La Villa,” his recent smash that reached #1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay charts, as well as “Quema,” “Jordan,” “Monastery,” “Mujeriego,” and more.
The Costa Rica takeover builds on a landmark run for Ryan Castro, who kicked off the LATAM leg with sold-out shows in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras. He also toured the U.S. last year with major arena dates at New York’s Barclays Center, Miami’s Kaseya Center, and Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome. The Sendé World Tour will continue its strong run across Latin America, with upcoming stops in Perú, Panamá, and more, as Castro brings his global catalog to fans across the region.
In addition, Castro gears up for the biggest night of his career, his homecoming stadium show at Medellín’s Estadio Atanasio Girardot taking place on April 25th, which sold out 45,000 tickets in under two hours, marking a historic milestone.
Earlier this week, Ryan Castro and J Balvin officially announced their joint album Omertà, set for release on May 7. The project follows back-to-back single releases “Tonto” and “Pa’l Agua,” along with a series of public appearances that have fueled anticipation. The artists also teased the album with a cinematic trailer featuring a special appearance by Sofía Vergara.
ABOUT RYAN CASTRO:
Ryan Castro is a global reggaeton and dancehall artist whose impact extends far beyond music—bridging culture, community, sports, and entrepreneurship. Dubbed as "El Cantante Del Ghetto”, Castro is a Colombian artist whose journey from street busking in Medellín's Pedregal neighborhood to global stardom is nothing short of remarkable.
Before his breakthrough with the single “Morena” in 2017, Ryan lived in Curaçao, where he immersed himself in reggae and dancehall—sounds that continue to define his Caribbean-infused musical identity. He rose to international prominence with hits like “Mujeriego” and “Jordan,” both of which landed on the Billboard Global 200 and Spotify’s Global Top 50. His Diamond-certified smash “QUEMA” alongside Peso Pluma further cemented his place among the world’s top Latin artists.
In 2024, Ryan released his RIAA 2x Platinum-certified debut album El Cantante Del Ghetto and delivered the global, viral anthem “El Ritmo Que Nos Une” for Colombia’s National Soccer Team—an unprecedented cultural moment that united music and sports. That same year, Rolling Stone U.S. named him a Future 25 honoree, recognizing him as one of the artists shaping the future of global music and culture.
Ryan followed with a landmark 2025, driven by sold-out U.S. arena tours, becoming the first Colombian artist to acquire equity in a professional sports team—Paisas Basketball Club, based in his hometown of Medellín—and launching one of Colombia’s most successful entertainment-brand collaborations to date: his Jumbo “Romantik Style” chocolate bar, which surpassed 1.2 million units sold. That same year, he released two critically acclaimed albums—Sendé and Hopi Sendé—which spotlight his Caribbean essence, shaped by the dancehall and reggae influences he absorbed while living in Curacao.
In 2026, Ryan’s momentum reached new heights as his hit single “La Villa,” from his third album Hopi Sendé, became a global phenomenon—peaking #31 on Spotify's global chart and reaching #1 across Latin America. Today, Ryan Castro stands as one of the biggest and best-selling Latin artists in the world, continuously breaking barriers and redefining what it means to be a global artist—on stage, in culture, and beyond.
