XAVI TAKES HOME ‘MEXICAN MUSIC – FUSION OF THE YEAR’ AT PREMIO LO NUESTRO FOR GLOBAL HIT “NO CAPEA”

Performs chart-topping hits “La Morrita” and “No Capea”, and dedicates win to immigrant communities

Miami, FL (February 20, 2026) - XAVI, the leading voice of música mexicana’s new generation, delivered a standout moment at this year’s Premio Lo Nuestro, where he was awarded Mexican Music – Fusion of the Year for his global hit “No Capea, a win he dedicated to the immigrant community. In addition to taking home one of the night’s top honors, the Mexican-American breakout star took to the stage for a dynamic performance of fan-favorite hits “La Morrita” and “No Capea” with T-Mobile. 

As part of the T-Mobile partnership, Xavi delivered a stripped-back rendition of “No Capea,” followed by a solo performance of “La Morrita,” commanding the stage with a strong presence while wearing a shirt featuring a monarch butterfly — a subtle nod to the journey and resilience of immigrant communities. The performance was later ranked #6 among the night’s standout moments in Billboard’s post-show performance rankings.

Earlier in the evening, Xavi made his red carpet appearance wearing a full look from Amiri’s Autumn-Winter 2025 collection, further cementing his status as one of the genre’s rising style figures.

“No Capea” continues to dominate globally, amassing over 400 million streams across platforms and reaching #1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart Meanwhile, “La Morrita” continues scaling up Spotify Mexico’s top songs.

Xavi’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down, as he is also nominated at the upcoming 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards in the category Regional Mexican Song of the Year for his hit track “Flores.”
