Miami, FL (August 8, 2025) – Two forward-thinking Mexican talents come together as Houston’s Ape Drums and Mexico City’s Luch unveil “FFM”—a sleek, late-night groove that sits at the intersection of melodic Afro house and meditative dance music. More than just a collaboration, it’s a cross-border connection that celebrates their shared heritage while pushing global club sounds forward.
First previewed during the duo’s JAAM session at Caracas Bakery in Miami, ”FFM” is a slow-burning ascent that builds patiently before dissolving into a calm yet rapid drop. Its percussive elements fizzle and pulse beneath the surface, creating tension without ever overwhelming. With Ape Drums anchoring the rhythm and Luch weaving in atmospheric detail, the track captures the balance between intimacy and expansiveness—minimal in structure, yet rich in feeling.
Both artists arrive at “FFM” in peak creative form. Ape Drums, a core member of the globally renowned trio Major Lazer, has spent the past decade shaping the sound of modern dance music. His production credits span collaborations with Major Lazer, Diplo, Sean Paul, and Randy, as well as co-writing BLACKPINK’s most recent #1 global hit “JUMP.” As a solo artist, his recent singles—“Into My Ocean,” “For Your Love,” and the “Like Dat (Remix)”—have been championed by tastemakers and DJs across the electronic and Latin dance spectrum. From headlining international festivals to igniting intimate club nights, Ape Drums’ sound is a fusion of global rhythms, sharp minimalism, and undeniable groove.
Meanwhile, Luch—6x RIAA Platinum certified and championed by tastemakers like Keinemusik, Black Coffee, and RÜFÜS DU SOL—delivers the kind of refined, atmospheric sound that has propelled him from Mexico City’s underground to some of the world’s most iconic stages. At just 24, his production catalog already spans hundreds of millions of streams and performances everywhere from the Pyramids of Giza to Mexico City's Palacio de los Deportes.
With “FFM”, Ape Drums and Luch prove that Mexican artistry has a powerful voice in global dance culture—rooted in shared identity, yet expansive enough to move crowds anywhere in the world.
About Ape Drums:
Eric Alberto-Lopez, professionally known as Ape Drums, is a genre-bending DJ and producer whose journey from cassette tape daydreams to global festival stages has been anything but ordinary. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, the Mexican-American artist first fell in love with music at an early age, obsessively dissecting tracks while listening to music and teaching himself how songs were built. Fascinated by the sounds and structures of the songs he grew up listening to, he taught himself how to arrange music—long before he had access to proper gear. He always had a sense of what people wanted to hear, instinctively tailoring his ideas to move the crowd. Originally dreaming of becoming a scratch DJ, Ape Drums shifted his path after watching.
About Luch:
Mexico City native Daniel Grossman, known as Luch, has been in music since childhood DJing by 8, producing by 12, and ghost-producing for established acts by 14. Signed to Axident’s Honua Publishing at 19, he is now a 6x RIAA Platinum-certified and Billboard nominated producer with over half a billion streams. His artist project blends Melodic, Afro House, and Indie Dance, earning support from Keinemusik, Black Coffee, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and more. Luch has toured globally, performing at the Pyramids of Giza, Ibiza, London, Dubai, Miami, New York, and Mexico City’s iconic Palacio de los Deportes.
